How can we get in touch?
Probably the quickest way to contact me is to simply register in our forum and PM me. But otherwise, feel free to send me an email at thx@sporenormous.com.
Why is it called Sporenormous?
You may wonder where the name Sporenormous came from, it’s not exactly a conventional gaming fansite name. Well, it’s actually quite simply: Spore is enormous! Spor-enormous, get it? Though I actually pronounce it Spore-normous, it just flows better! There really wasn’t much thought that went into it - I had a few other names that I liked, but this seemed to be the most appropriate.
And who am I?
Sometimes, just sometimes, visitors are interested in knowing who is the person behind the curtain: me! I will keep this relatively quick and sweet because to tell you the truth, talking about myself is like listening to a rain storm: it gets old really fast.
Well, first of all, why do I like Spore? I think I was attracted to Spore for the very same reasons everyone else is so enthralled by it: it’s unique, it’s creative and it’s smart. Most games are variations of things past, but Spore is truly new! But more importantly, Spore allows players to tap their creative spirit and create a slew of different entities. I think this aspect of the game is really attractive to those of us that grew up playing with legos. The idea that your creations are only limited by your own imagination is simply amazing. Personally, there is another aspect of Spore that I find extremely enticing: Space. I am a huge fan of astronomy and creating a world where you can engage this environment in a complex way (think terraforming) is a huge draw for me.
Now a bit about myself, I’m in my 4th year of a degree in Medical Sciences - basically, I do a lot of anatomy and physiology course work, with a dab of pathology in there to. I am applying to medical school this year, so hopefully that’s where I will be in 2009. This isn’t my first gaming website, I also created and managed GuildWarsGuru back in the day, it was a pretty massive website with millions of hits and over 150,000 registered members. Hopefully Sporenormous can become just as popular!
