Spore Contest

To help our community grow and reward our active members, we’ve decided to sponsor a Spore Contest. It is only open to registered members of our forum. We have one copy of Spore up for grabs (possibly two, depending on our finances) and the process of selection is rather simple. It’s a mixture of randomness, merit and subjectiveness. We will be randomly selecting 40 members with at least 35 forum posts. We will then sift through each member’s post and referral history to narrow the list down. We will be looking at the quality of posts (to make sure it is not someone that simply spammed their way to 35 posts), friendliness and their number of referrals. We will subjectively rank each member and only keep the top 20. At this point we will randomly select our winner from the top 20. If we have the finances to, we will select a second winner from another randomly selected group. We may also throw in a few smaller prizes as well.

This isn’t a popularity contest, we are simply trying to make sure that the person who receives the prize is deserving of it. There is enough randomness in the process that anyone who has over 35 posts and has contributed to the community in a positive way has a fair chance of winning as anyone else of the same caliber.

The winner will be selected in late August, two weeks before Spore is released. This will give us enough to time to put the orders in and be sure that the winner receives their copy of Spore as early as possible.
